Abstract

Workplace mental health has become an increasingly important aspect of HRM practice, with calls for greater attention to this topic within business and management education. One vital skill set needed by HRM professionals for facilitating workplace mental health is relational skills. The purpose of this article is two-fold. First, the article describes the use of "coping-modeling problem-solving" (CMPS) video vignettes for the experiential learning of nuanced, mental health-related relational skills among prospective HRM professionals. The use of CMPS video vignettes within an experiential learning framework piques student interest and engages students in active and interactive ways while facilitating relational skill development. Second, the article provides practical guidance for developing these types of videos.
